Tulsa Oklahoma E. coli O104 Outbreak

On June 20, 2011 the Tulsa Health Department announced that it was investigating four cases of E. coli O104 in children. Two of the children were hospitalized. Three of the children attended Boston Avenue Church Daycare

Health officials did not confirm a link to the childcare center, but it was a focus of the E. coli outbreak investigation.

E. coli O104 is the same strain as that which has plagued Europe in May and June of 2011; however there was no link between the two E. coli outbreaks.
